New Italjet Dragster Performance Predictions

The new Italjet Dragster 125 has 15hp and weighs in at 108KG that makes for a rather impressive power to weight ratio! Thanks to its lightweight modular frame, minimal bodywork and strong power output the new Dragster should on paper at least outperform most other bikes on the market with similar sized engines.

Let's make a few comparisons in the 125 segment...

                                  Italjet Dragster 125cc 4T 108KG, 15BHP 139BHP per ton

                                   KTM RC 125 4T 139KG, 15BHP = 108BHP per ton

Vespa GTS 125cc 4T 158KG, 12.2BHP = 76BHP per ton

Honda PCX 125 130KG. 12.1BHP = 92BHP per ton

Yamaha XMAX 125 4T 169KG, 14BHP = 83BHP per ton

As you can see from above the few groans from the social misery goons about the engines giving disappointing performance are very unfounded especially when compared to on the current offerings from Italjets competitors. The truth is the new Dragster 125 looks to have market-leading performance which will see the return to the glory days of fun small engined bikes.

Expect a top speed of 70mph from the 125cc and 80mph from the 200cc these estimates are what the old Aprilia Scarabeo was capable of so should be more than achievable from the Dragster given it weighs quite a bit less and has a somewhat improved version of the original Scarabeo engine.
